How do I join an Alliance War?

All alliances that meet the requirements and their members automatically join the Preparation Phase and the War itself once it starts.

If a player wishes to not participate in the Alliance War and commit his heroes to fight there, he would need to either leave his alliance before the Preparation Phase ends or after the War starts with no penalty to himself– he gets his heroes back on Mount Olympus, but cannot rejoin the war.
